Inertia is one of the greatest and one of the most innovative discovery by the humans, to the humans, and for the humans. how about lazing off in front of a 42" HD screen, playing simpsons on a cell-processor. Inertia is a boon. I tell you.

Some say, we have higgs field all around us, which is responsible for the inertial mass in all of the sub-atomic particles. Looks like, we are all made up of tiny-winy particles( with lots of empty spaces between them, and are held together by four forces of nature). so much so for the particle physics.
Higgs field has also been attributed to the reason behind our ever expanding universe. This was initially conceptualized by Einstein, and he termed it as Cosmological constant(Dark Matter). Yes, Einstein too was lazy.
