CERN has helped science to finally achieve a statistical milestone, in the quest for the knowledge. Higgs particle( or wave ) discovery will strengthen the Standard Model of particle physics. More than anything, a confirmation of this particle, will establish existence of Higgs field all around us in the fabric of Universe.
A better understanding of Higgs field can lead to an accelerated growth of human potential by removing the veil, which has blinded us for so long, and has resulted in acceptance of an object's mass as an abstract quantity.
What is there to Imagine? We'd ask.
Imagine!! Manipulation of Higgs field may allow acceleration of heavy mass to achieve the speed of light using finite energy source, or may help us to create an invisible entity which does not interact with matter in a normal sense, thus WIMPing it's way through all our sensing equipments undetected.
