Negative Information

Quantum mechanics defines a way to send across negative information, thereby reducing the amount of information the receiver already has.

Strange, but then everything is strange about anything prefixed with quantum!!

Getting back to the familiar world. Our Immune System already uses the concept of negative Information. Which has also been replicated in various security applications.

So, what is there to imagine?

Imagine this:

"That is Fullness, this is Fullness,
from Fullness comes Fullness.
When Fullness is taken from Fullness,
Fullness remains."
- (Brihadaranyaka Upanishad, 1.10) Vedic literature on conceptualization of Zero

I think that too is negative Information. Zero is represented by absence of Fullness.
A negative attribute associated with the realization that 'the whole' exists, and is complete.

Hello Google!!!

Googlephone or G-Phone or Android or G-OS. Whatever be the name they all say the same thing: $1,000+ Google - A company worth $310 billion dollar in 9 years.

Why an operating system ? well, look close. Its about who has the better control of the user, before/with the launch of mobile/fixed convergence. The Content Providers or the Infrastructure Folks?

and, of course, the rival is betting on it! or not quite.

Space Complexity Mystified

Should it have been D-Mystified? No, I am not D-C. I just walk my litle space in D.C.

This post is not about me. Its about R.G., the man. Yes, he has been walking with his head down, surveilling the ground for intelligence, since his IIT-days.

DJ Fadereu has invented a way to walk the space. Not just walk, but encode the 2-D space with the resolution of GSM Service provider's cell tower spacing, apply it to a geometrical transformation and decode it with a language we all understand well.

Beeb-R sayeth, its a super-slow. I say its for the humans, and we don't follow Moore's law.

Rig Veda

Recently, the oldest of the vedas has been included in UNESCO's Memory of the World Register.

So, Does Rig-Veda echo anything significant pertaining to our times, or is it just yet another scripture, which requires religio-political hullabaloo to be kept alive?

"Dawn on us with prosperity, O Usha, Daughter of the Sky,
Dawn with great glory, Goddess, Lady of the Light, dawn thou with riches, Bounteous One.
.
.
.
Thou dawning with thy beams of light illumest all the radiant realm.
Thee, as thou art, the Kaṇvas, fain for wealth, have called with sacred songs."

- excerpts from Rig Veda.

Wishing everyone a very Happy Deepawali.

Chandra Yaan

Its almost time to launch the indigenous vehicle.

The project, which costs ~100 million $, and completely funded by Govt. of India, is considered as one of the most ambitious plans of recent times. India's first trip to the moon is definitely a feather in the cap for ISRO's competitive strength.

So, why moon? and why India ? does a successful low cost space mission prove World is Flat !! again?

Think so.

Simplest Universal Computation

Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.
~Leonardo DaVinci

Dunno, why! but paradoxical statements have always triggered a series of chemical reaction in my brain. May be the reason I am a believer of TRIZ methodology.

Recently, Alex Smith has found a proof that a 2-state 3-colored Cellular Automata is capable of Universal Computation. What does this mean?

To my understanding, this means that even the simplest of system in nature, is capable of computing. And when I say computing, it really means computing Anything under the sun.

The question a believer of computation will ask is. With what resource requirements ?

So, lets see what can be a simplest 2-state 3-colored Cellular Automata! - Electrons, already have two spins(2-states) and they do have various Atomic Orbitals(categorize 3 colors) and then Consider Molecules ( a ready made CA )

Am I talking greek here? May be Not.

Face-Booking

Facebook is termed, by marketing gurus, as one of the fastest growing social networking web-space. Well, whats so great about this one, as compared to the others.

The key is the concept to extend 'the book' with custom-built application, using its REST-based interfaces and APIs.
Do we see a pattern here?
A pattern from the past which made Microsoft Office(and its OLE automation) a success story. I am sure, we do.

Time to create 'a Face in the book', or 'Book a Face' on the web-space.

Gadgetry

Gravity Defyer - I happen to Stumble-upon this while doing the usual walk around the internet for Gadgetry, which we men are always accused of by our insensitive better-halves. So be it.

now the whole concept of defying gravity sounds really cool. Question is how ? with my distorted understanding of classical physics, I am not sure how these shoes derive power from gravity.

The patented ventilation system and cushioning sounds like a refreshing idea. No I am not a shoe-freak. I am just gadget-friendly.

Googlism

googlism is just plain gobblety gook?

A cool concept on the lines of google's idea of personalization, using keywords.
More so, as we look at the next level of intelligent systems: Content Aware Processing and Content Aware Networks

This is what Googlism says about these:
'the four-lettered' : love is the killer app if you want to fix your future.
'the eye' : eye is on the future

so do say the Reuters

not to mention what googlism says about me : "blaze is perfect".
yes you got it right... blah-zee is the name.
